Ruskaan pian kääntyvä metsä kutsuu vaeltamaan. Eiköhän siis mennä viikonloppuna 23.-24.9. itäiseen Nuuksioon patikoimaan ja telttailemaan. Ja tehdään se vieläpä yhteistyössä Helsingin yliopiston Eteläsuomalaisen osakunnan kanssa, jolloin metsäpolulle ja leirinuotiolle saadaan tavallistakin jalompaa seuraa.
Retken sisällön puolesta suunnitelmana on viettää lauantain valoisa aika vaellellen ja välipaloja popsien. Illemmalla pysähdytään kokkailemaan ja pimeän tullen istutaan leirinuotiolle. Suunnitelmissa on myös järjestää halukkaille telttasauna.
Reissun pituuden voi kukin itse päättää: voit joko tulla molemmiksi päiviksi tai vain lauantaiksi päiväretkelle ja lähteä sitten illalla bussilla.
Myös kävelymatkan pituus säädetään osallistujien toiveiden mukaan: tarvittaessa jakaudutaan vaikka porukoihin toivotun etenemisnopeuden perusteella. Aiempaa vaelluskokemusta et siis tarvitse.
Mukaan tarvitset lähinnä hyvät kengät (kumisaappaat tai vaelluskengät), säänkestävää vaatetusta ja vettä. Lähetän noin viikko ennen retkeä vielä tarkemmat ohjeet ja tarvikelistan kaikille osallistujille.
Lähtö Helsingistä on lauantaina klo 9.43 lähtevällä U-junalla, jolla menemme Espoon keskukseen. Sieltä hyppäämme klo 10.25 lähtevään bussiin 245A. Porukkaan voi siis liittyä heti Helsingissä, junamatkan varrelta tai vasta Espoossa.
Ruoan ostaminen tunnetusti maksaa, joten tälläkin retkellä on osallistumismaksuna ruokarahat. Jos tulet molemmiksi päiviksi, hintaa tulee 10 euroa, kun taas lauantain päiväretkestä pyydämme 5 euroa. Maksuohjeet tulevat aiemmin mainitun infosähköpostin yhteydessä.

The forests are turning towards the fall and inviting us to witness the spectacle. So let's go to eastern Nuuksio on the weekend of 23.-24.9. for some hiking and camping. And let's do it together with ESO, southern Finland's student nation, so we'll have even nobler company than usual on the forest paths and around our campfire.
The plan is to spend most of Saturday hiking and eating snacks. Towards the evening we'll stop to make food and when it gets dark, we'll start a campfire. The current plan is also to arrange a tent sauna for those who want it.
The length of the trip is up to each participant: you can either come for both days or just have a day hike on Saturday and then take a bus in the evening.
The walking distance will also be adjusted according to wishes of the participants: if needed, we'll divide into groups based on the preferred walking distance. No previous hiking experience is needed.
As far as the equipment goes, the most important things are good shoes (rubber boots or hiking boots), weatherproof clothing and drinking water. I'll send an info email to all participants about a week before trip where I'll share a proper equipment list.
On Saturday morning, we'll take the 9.43 U-train from Helsinki to Espoon keskus. From Espoon keskus, we'll take the 10.25 bus 245A to Nuuksio. What that means is that you can join up in Helsinki or in Espoo, whichever is easier for you.
Buying food tends to cost money, so this trip too has a small participation fee. If you join for both days, the fee is 10 euros, and if you join for Saturday only, it's 5 euros. I'll send more detailed payment info together with the info email I mentioned earlier.
